When you know that your friend is passed away, maybe one of your question after you (may) crying a lot is “How about his/her Social Network Account?”. Okay, Facebook have the way on it. I’ve seen it on All Facebook.
Since on that site there is a big picture about 600 kB, I will recite the text.
- There is a fact that over 300 million have died since Facebook Launched in 2004 (4.5 % and world population is 6.7 billion).
- Facebook says 200,000 of its member die every year. (That puts Facebook’s death % at about half of the world average).
But, annoyingly a few months after your dead friend not logged in, Facebook will show this:
Perhaps it will make you or people around you cry.
Facebook used to delete that account once they found its owner is dead. But after the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings, Facebook creates a feature that will let that profile memorialized. It will make that profile can’t find by the search, but for those you already be a friend on Facebook before the owner of the profile died, you still can leave a memoriam message on his/her wall.
You can report your deceased friend at: http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=deceased.
And you have to give Facebook a proof, maybe a news or something, so you can’t abuse this feature.
