This is a free application created by MobileWitch. It’s useful for controlling your PC with bluetooth connection.

It has capability to control applications. They are Windows Media Player, Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Winamp, Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Windows Explorer.

This program is very useful for presenter that presenting their presentation in front of public. I’ve tried the function of Microsoft PowerPoint. The control is great. You don’t need to have a presenter remote.

The mouse and keyboard function is available. The mouse function is great. What your mouse position and it’s surrounds is shown in your phone! The keyboard function is not fully good. But, overall this application is good and I can’t wait for the new features available and still remain FREE.

Requirements:

All you need are Bluetooth Connection for your PC/Laptop and Bluetooth Enabled Phone with J2ME Environment. Also, please ensure that you have the latest Java Runtime Environment in your PC.

Installation:

As the installation method is a little difficult, I wanna tell you how to do that. All you have to do first is downloading that file from:

After finished, install that application. Make sure your Bluetooth connectivity is discoverable by another devices. For Microsoft OBEX Bluetooth driver, you can do following thing:

Windows XP (SP2 and SP3 only, RTM and SP1 doesn’t have the Plug ‘n Play driver)

Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Bluetooth Devices

go to Options tab and make sure ‘Allow Bluetooth devices find this computer’ checkbox is checked.

Windows Vista

Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Bluetooth Devices

go to Options tab and make sure ‘Allow Bluetooth devices find this computer’ checkbox is checked.

Note: If you’re phone and PC is already paired, you don’t have to do this. Pairing device means 2 devices had been connected as you need and those 2 devices still discoverable each other even the devices are in hidden state.

Installation of the phone client

The java client for your phone is  X:\Program Files\Mobile Witch Remote Control\MWRemoteCtrl.jar. Transfer it to your phone. If you have a Nokia phone, you can do this with Nokia PC Suite.

Note: X:\ represents your Windows installation drive.

Then, open the applications both on your PC and Phone.
